Brian & Lauren
December 24, 2020Thank you for visiting our wedding video gallery. When we got engaged on December 5, 2020, we had no idea what the next 19 days had in store for us. But given all the challenges of 2020 and unknowns of 2021, we soon decided upon a “pop-up” wedding on Christmas Eve. First, it was a practical decision because our parents were already determined to get together with us for the holiday, the pandemic be damned. Secondly, and more importantly, it felt like a serendipitous decision. The Christmas season has always been a special time for us as a couple. We met in November 2016, and many of our first dates involved holiday activities around Chicago - sipping Gluhwein at the Christkindlmarket, taking our first selfie at the Lights Parade, being in awe of the Celtic dancers at the Old St Pat’s Christmas concert, the perfectly-timed snowfall as we walked the Lincoln Park ZooLights, and (what has since become an annual tradition) grabbing pints at The Berghoff immediately after attending Merry Merry Chicago at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. It's because of these fond memories that Christmastime will always hold a special place in our hearts. So we could think of no better way to celebrate our wedding than an intimate ceremony infused with the magic of Christmas. And we could think of no better backdrop to our wedding day than to have it adorned with holiday lights.
